Rateau / P.E. Guerin is proud to be the leading firm working in the style of Art Deco-era designer Armand Albert Rateau. Classically trained as an architect creating period rooms, Rateau didn't develop his distinctive style until late in his career. He was strongly influenced by a trip to Pompeii where he saw frescoes and bronze work featuring imaginative patterns made of birds, insects, and plants. He combined this iconography with the exaggerated, elongated aesthetic of Art Deco to create a new dreamlike visual language for his interiors. P.E. Guerin's artisans have re-fashioned and extrapolated from his original designs to create a beautiful collection functional for the present day, bringing this exquisitely unique style to life once more.
